FREDERICK & SOPHIE is the first digital Department Story: a multi-brand E-Commerce destination that combines retail with fiction writing and illustrations. Merchandise selections are integrated into the FREDERICK & SOPHIE fictional narrative and build around the personality, style, lifestyle and changing situations of eight fictional characters

For FREDERICK & SOPHIE we are in search of freelance illustrators, whose illustration style is IDENTICAL to ours, with a strong understanding of character consistency.

We are in search of illustrators who:

• recognize their hand drawn watercolor illustration style in ours. We like to call it a romanticized version of reality. A mixture of strict lines and soft coloring;
• have experience in the field of fashion illustration;
• are passionate about getting every single detail right;
• can work with deadlines;
• have a feeling for commerce;
• are open to external edits and suggestions;
• are excited about bringing the world of FREDERICK & SOPHIE to life, together with us.

Please note that this is not a one -time project, it would involve continuous illustration assignments. The assignments contain character (full-body, half-body and portrait), product, interior and exterior illustrations to be used on our website, blog and social media pages. Our illustrators have to be able to illustrate the characters as presented on our website.

Please don’t send in any work that does not reflect our illustration style.

As this is a freelance position, we look for illustrators around the world.

For FREDERICK & SOPHIE we are in search of freelance character-driven fiction writers who can write the way our characters talk.

We are in search of writers who:

• are storytellers by heart;
• recognize their voice/ writing style in ours;
• are as passionate about character development as about getting every descriptive detail right;
• can work with deadlines;
• understand the fine line between fact and fiction;
• have a feeling for commerce;
• can serve our readers by connecting them to the story;
• are open to external edits and suggestions. Re-writes, edits, and improvements all come by maintaining a disciplined approach to writing which you are in possession of.
• are excited about bringing the world of FREDERICK & SOPHIE come to life together with us.

Please note that this is not a one -time project. The continuous writing assignments include character blog posts, character notes, social media posts. Our writers have to be able to write in the tone of voice of our characters.
