HUMAN RIGHTS POLICY

La Mode Oblige

“La Mode Oblige... Fashion obliges to honorable, generous and responsible behavior. ... We believe that we have a responsibility to conduct due diligence that ensures human rights are respected in our supply chains, even if we don't `{`have the intention to`}` contribute directly to any possible human rights violation(s).... This is an industry built on beauty, communicating beauty, expressing beauty. It should actively protect and deeply respect its artisans, craftsmen, seamstresses around the world. In the end they ARE the industry, they are its cultural heritage, they ARE its beauty.” - Markus & Priscilla Obermeier

COTTONFORLIFE

To pilot the cultivation of Egyptian Extra-Long Staple organic cotton and enhance sustainable cotton production, our Italian yarn producer and the Government of Egypt signed a landmark agreement on September 18, 2014. Social fairness towards farmers and all workers involved in the entire chain of cotton production are the cornerstone of the ‘Cotton for Life’ Initiative, guaranteeing that the cotton being produced is not only organic, but as well respectful of environmental and fair social standards.
